Today we said goodbye to our Tollcross chicks. We have really enjoyed observing their changes over the past two weeks. They arrived as tiny eggs and left today as fluffy chicks with very small feathered wings! I have been amazed by the caring, gentle and responsible way that the pupils have cared for the delicate little animals. They have arrived at Mrs Frew’s house now and we are looking forward to hearing about their progress as they grow and develop into adult hens!
We had a wonderful morning with Emily MacKenzie today listening to her stories, watching her draw and learning about her inspiration and journey to becoming an author and illustrator. This afternoon we had a go ourselves. Definitely some budding illustrators in the making! Tomorrow we begin writing our own stories! We will also be ordering several copies of her books for pupils to borrow and share with you at home over the next few weeks! Thanks to the First Ministers Reading Challenge Inspiring Classrooms project for the funding to allow this to happen.
Today we say goodbye to our wonderful headteacher Mrs Brown.
