We had a lovely afternoon snuggling up with our favourite stories and reading 😊
As we missed our cosy book picnic because of the snow last week we will be having it tomorrow- Wednesday the 7th March. Pupils are invited to bring in their favourite book, and are welcome to bring in pyjamas or something cosy to wear, and a blanket or a favourite soft toy as well. We are looking forward to snuggling up with a book and enjoying reading together.
This wasn’t the weather we had hoped for for our WBD celebrations however, it is the perfect weather to snuggle up inside and share a story. The WBD team have a number of free resources for a snowy day that can be found below-

As this is Book Week, on Wednesday 28th February, Primary 1/2 will be having a school ‘booknic’. We will be celebrating our favourite books during a class picnic!
As part of our focus on raising attainment in literacy we aim to promote the enjoyment of reading and the value of books to encourage our pupils to be lifelong, enthusiastic readers.
Children should bring a favourite book (or two) from home to share with their friends. They can also bring a cuddly toy, pyjamas or a small blanket, if they wish.
Next week is book week at Tollcross! Throughout the week we will be celebrating reading and stories and there are events planned throughout the week! Please bring your favourite book to school next week and we would love to see you dressing up as a favourite character on Thursday for the character parade!
